Certified Hypnotherapist and I-CBT Certified
Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor and member of the National Guild of Hypnotists with nearly two decades of experience in the helping profession. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults across a variety of clinical settings, including psychiatric hospitals, residential group homes, foster care agencies, day treatment programs, and community-based services. These diverse experiences have provided her with extensive expertise in supporting individuals facing complex emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.
Melissa specializes in working with adults experiencing trauma, OCD, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, relationship and marital concerns, women's issues, and life transitions. She also has experience supporting older adults and individuals struggling with behavioral concerns and chronic stress.
Melissa utilizes an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to each client's unique needs. Her clinical approaches include Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for OCD, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness-based interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Guided Imagery. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, collaboration, and authenticity is the foundation for meaningful change. Clients often describe Melissa as warm, compassionate, and direct, appreciating her ability to create a supportive environment while helping them make lasting progress.
Through both personal and professional experiences, Melissa understands that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming and that change is often challenging. She strives to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences openly, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change. Melissa believes that every individual possesses the capacity for growth, healing, and living a more fulfilling life.
Outside of her clinical work, Melissa enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, meditation, and spending time with her family, friends, and animals.Â
